5-1. GENERAL
As a medical specialist, you will probably treat a patient for burns to the eye. The three major burns that can affect the eyes are chemical burns, radiant energy or intensely bright light burns, and thermal burns. Correct initial emergency aid to a patient's injured eye will help relieve the pain and will also help to prevent injury and possible loss of vision.
